(ECNS)- Chinese Foreign Ministry on Tuesday confirmed that it had issued an invitation to Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to attend China's memorial events on WWII later this year.
When asked whether China has invited Abe to attend WWII commemoration in September, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said at a daily news briefing that "We have already given the information about activities to be held by the Chinese government in September to mark the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War."
"The Chinese side has extended invitations to leaders of all relevant countries and international organizations," she added.
