Candidates learn skills of ceramic making.
On July 20th , 15 candidates from all over the world visited Sanbao Village of Jingdezhen City to compete for a spot among top ten of the "Chinese Bridge".
Sanbao International Ceramics Village, is an old-fashioned farm house famous for ceramic making. Ceramist Li Jianshen, founder of the village, acted as the candidates' teacher during the competition.
Divided into three groups, the 15 candidates learned "Taotie (gluttonous ogre) design" for bronze pattern, "Old Man Ding" fresco and work clothes made of dyed linen. The candidates were then expected to make a piece of handiwork using the techniques learned, and narrate on it for three minutes.
The top ten seats were taken by the following candidates (all in their Chinese names) as: Cheng Weixian and Zheng Zupeng from the Asian group, Shi Moli and Gao Minglang from American group, Luo Lianna and Ren Liming from Oceanian group, Yi Wei and Lei Mingda from European group, and Ma Mingyuan and Yi Xiu from African group.
Their next stop will be Anhua County of Hunan, where they will experience China's tea culture, and the competition for the top five candidates will commence there.
