On July 14, 100 competitors of the "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students from over 80 countries in Asia, Africa, Europe, the America and Oceania arrived at the Yueyang Tower, one of the three most famous towers in China. Standing under the scorching sun, the contestants jointly recited the famous article "The Yueyang Tower" by Fan Zhongyan (989~1052 B.C.), a noted litterateur of the Northern Song Dynasty.
"Though the weather is really hot, I feel excited to recite a Chinese article with so many Chinese learners," expressed a female competitor from Seoul Women's University of Korea. And another competitor from Kobe City University of Foreign Studies of Japan said, "Reciting on such a hot day is also a wonderful experience. The temperature is just like the hospitality of Hunan people. The experience is significant and rather unforgettable for me."
