The National Two Sessions -- the Fifth Session of the 12th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and the Fifth Session of the 12th National People's Congress (NPC) -- is to close on March 13 and 15 respectively in Beijing, with nearly 3,000 leaders and deputies from all over China in attendance.
During the two sessions, Jilin deputies submitted a total of 12 motions and 166 proposals, which will help promote the development of China's economy and the revitalization of Jilin province.
Baiyin Chaolu, secretary of Jilin Provincial Committee of Communist Party of China and director of Standing Committee of Jilin Provincial People's Congress.
"Jilin province is in a key period of revitalization, during which the entire province should focus on improving quality and efficiency while promoting supply-side reform to realize a sustainable and healthy development of an economic society."
Liu Guozhong, governor of Jilin province.
"The central government should encourage more central enterprises in China to settle in Jilin and help promote revitalization of Northeast China."
Wang Yong, member of the committee of the State Council.
"The Jilin government should encourage innovation and entrepreneurship and improve people's living standards to realize stable and harmonious development within the province."
Piao Huishan, Jilin deputy.
"More and more people travel in Jilin province by plane but there are few trains to other cities that stop at the airport, which wastes much time. A new stop at the airport for the Jilin-Hunchun special line will make it easier for visitors travelling in the province, which at the same time can attract more people to tour in Jilin."
Song Zhiping, Jilin deputy.
"I used to visit a Swiss watch factory. The whole family, from generation to generation, were craftsmen. They not only inherit the skills for watch manufacturing but also inherit the craftsman spirit. The development of a real economy needs manufacturers with craftsman spirit."
Wang Xiaoyan, Jilin deputy and an actress. "I visited many underdeveloped villages, in which cultural coverage is in great demand. The government should encourage and select more cultural talents to enter these underdeveloped areas and help encourage villagers to overcome poverty."
On the open media day, many journalists listened to the deputies' discussions and raised questions. Even foreign reporters listened carefully during the conference.
