On the morning of March 7, 2017, Wang Qishan, secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, joined the fourth plenary session with deputies to the 12th NPC from Hunan at East Hall of the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
Secretary Wang and Hunan deputies deliberated government work report, and reviewed plan report and budget report.
Vice Chairman of Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Zhang Ping, Head of the Supreme People’s Court of China Zhou Qiang, Deputy Head of Hunan Delegation Xu Dazhe, and Wu Lan attended the deliberation. Head of Hunan Delegation presided over the meeting. Nie Chenxi, head of the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television (SAPPRFT), who was entrusted by the State Council, listened to the discussion.
Joining deputies from Hunan Province, Secretary Wang stressed the need to uphold the Party's leadership and strengthen Party discipline.
Corruption undermines both the people's vital interests and the Party's reputation, and consequently erodes the foundation on which the Party rules, said Wang, calling on the whole Party to clean up bad practices and boost public confidence and trust in the CPC Central Committee.
