The meeting also approved the standing committee's work report to be deliberated at the annual session and a report on proposals made since last year's session.
Yu, chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, urged political advisors to offer advice and suggestions for the implementation of major reform measures, policies and targets set for the next five years, carrying out democratic supervision and feeling free to express their opinions.
Several appointments and dismissals of officials were also announced at the meeting.
The CPPCC is a mechanism of multi-party cooperation and political consultation under the leadership of the Communist Party of China.
It consists of elite figures from Chinese society who are willing to serve the think tank for the government, legislative and judicial organs.
