     面积490平方公里

     发展基础新区位于长沙市湘江西岸，包括岳麓区、望城区和宁乡县部分区域，核心区域为岳麓区岳麓街道等15个街道、望城区喻家坡街道等8个街道以及宁乡县金洲镇，覆盖长沙高新技术产业开发区、宁乡经济技术开发区和望城经济技术开发区3个国家级园区，面积490平方公里。2014年常住人口85万人，地区生产总值970亿元，财政总收入167亿元，工业总产值2110亿元。

    The State Council recently issued an approval for establishing Xiangjiang New Area in Hunan. It is the first national new area established in central China.

     Located in the west bank of the Xiangjiang River and covering an area of 490 square kilometers, Xiangjiang New Area consists of Yuelu District, Wangcheng District and part of Ningxiang County. It covers three national industrial parks, namely, Changsha National Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone, Ningxiang National Economic and Technological Development Zone and Wangcheng National Economic and Technological Development Zone. In 2014, its GDP, fiscal revenue and industrial added value reached 97 billion yuan, 16.7 billion yuan and 211 billion yuan respectively.

　　高水平规划建设梅溪湖中心城区，强化行政、经济、文化功能。在新区北部、南部、西部分别规划建设滨水新城、洋湖新城、沩东新城三个次中心城区，提升产业发展和人口集聚功能，带动周边区域发展。

　　To plan the construction of Meixi Lake District with high level by strengthening administrative, economic and cultural function.   secondary center cities of Bingshui, Yanghu and Weidong will be built in order to improve industrial development and population agglomeration function and to promote surrounding areas' increase.
